Fox Lake Subdivision
Railroad formed in 1980, gradually acquiring former Milwaukee Road trackage from CP Rail, and acquiring line between Fox Lake and Janesville in 1992. Railroad uses trackage rights over CP in and out of Chicago area. Last passenger service between Fox Lake and Janesville had been in 1971, eliminated with the formation of Amtrak. Although limited passenger service existed briefly in 2000 and 2001, by an Amtrak train carrying primarily express shipments.
